In rotary indexing tables and suchlike rotary transport devices, it is necessary for the accurate positioning of the rotary plate to temporarily neutralise its toothed connection. In the novel rotary transport device, it is to be possible to achieve exact positioning of the rotary plate without the rotary plate being lifted. The proposed device has spherical coupling bodies which can alternatively be engaged in and disengaged from tooth gaps of an inner toothed ring provided on the basic body and an outer toothed ring arranged on the rotary plate.
