<p>A buoyancy compensator device for underwater objects such as divers includes a flexible container which is capable of changing volume in response to changing differential pressures. A selected differential pressure is maintained between the interior and exterior of the container such that the volume of the device remains constant as ambient pressure changes during underwater descent and ascent. In one embodiment, the container is a flexible vest (10) worn by the diver which is maintained at a preselected differential pressure relative to ambient pressure. In another embodiment, the container is a diving suit (50) worn by the diver. Yet another embodiment includes a lift bag for attachment to underwater objects.</p> |
