1,185,807. Partitions for boxes. GUSTAV STABERNACK G.m.b.H. 26 July, 1968 [29 July, 1967; 2 April, 1968], No. 35933/68. Heading B8P. A box partitioning blank has panels 15 ... 24, Fig. 2, separated by fold-lines ... 14, with incisions 15a, 17a, 19a, 2]a along the top edges of the panels 15, &c., the incisions being engaged when the partition is erected by notches 24a on the bottom edge of an interlock panel 24, the cut-lines 12a, 13a partly separating the panels 21, 22, 23 and the panel 22 having a central fold-line 22a to allow turning-over of the interlock panel 24 relatively to the rest of the blank during erection. The partition is formed by first folding the panels 15... 21, Fig. 3, perpendicular to each other. The interlock panel 24, the panel 23 and the adjacent upper panel half 22 are then folded at right-angles to each other, and the panel 22 folded along the line 22a, so that the interlock panel is horizontal. Finally, the panel 22 is straightened, and the notches 24a in the interlock panel 24 inserted into the incisions 15a, &c. of the panels 15, &c., Fig. 4. The erected partition shown fits inside a rectangular carton, Fig. 5 (not shown), having simple top and bottom flaps (2b-5b). As shown, the partition blank provides ten compartments. Alternatively, blanks having fewer or more panels 15, &c. may be erected to provide from four to thirty compartments, Fig. 6 (not shown). |
