PURPOSE:To obtain infrared collimated rays of wide coverage with an inexpensive and light-weight constitution by arranging pairs of infrared lenses and infrared prisms in one axial direction. CONSTITUTION:Lenses 8 are arranged on the circle having a radius R equal to the focal length so that a fixed point A coincides with the focus. Rays 11 emitted from the fixed point A become rays parallel with a straight line 10 after emitted from the lens 8 and are made incident on the prism 9. Since the prism 9 whose vertical angle corresponds to a distance (h) from an optical axis 6 is arranged at the rear of the pertinent lens 8, rays emitted from the prism are parallel with the optical axis, namely, collimated. Thus, an infrared collimator for dynamical evaluation in one axial direction of an infrared image pickup device or the like is obtained with the light-weight and inexpensive constitution.
