PURPOSE:To enable complete combustion of an unburnt substance, e.g. unburnt gas, unburnt dust, by a method wherein pipes made of a ceramic material are arranged at the combustion exhaust gas outlet of an incinerator, an air duct casing is mounted on the outside of an exhaust gas outlet, and the pipe is opened to the interior of the air duct casing. CONSTITUTION:Pipes 3 made of a ceramic material are aligned in a plurality of stages in high temperature gas atmosphere of a combustion exhaust gas outlet part 15 of an incinerator. This constitution enables an unburnt substance, e.g. unburnt gas, unburnt dust in exhaust gas to pass in contact with the outer peripheral surface of the pipe 3 made of a ceramic material, and increases combustion speed. Further, heat retained by exhaust gas enables reduction of an amount of radiant heat dissipated to the gas cooling chamber 8 side in the presence of the pipes 3 in a plurality of stages, and enables the exhaust gas temperature to be maintained at a high value. Since portions of radiant heat from pipe groups can be expected, recombustion is effected.
