PURPOSE:To prevent a recording medium from being deteriorated, in a recording and reproducing device disposed in a limited space incorporating an air- conditioning device within an automobile or the like, by disabling the operation of the recording and reproducing device when the humidity of air around the air-conditioning device becomes cut of a predetermined range. CONSTITUTION:A recording and reproducing device is disposed in a limited space incorporating an air-conditioning device within an automobile or the like, and records and reproduces images, voice and the like by means of a recording medium. Further, the recording and reproducing device has a controller 3 for controlling an actuating switch 2 for a recording and reproducing unit 1 and vehicle body side parts 4. In this arrangement a hygrometer or a dew sensor 10 is provided in the vicinity of the recording and reproducing unit 1, and a detection signal therefrom is delivered to the controller 3. When the humidity is higher than a predetermined value so that there is a risk of producing dew, a warning means 11 is energized and the switch 2 is turned off to stop the feed of power to the unit 1. Further, the opening degree of solenoid shut-off valves 8, 9 disposed in a passage 7 from an air-conditioner 5 are regulated so as to increase the capacity of the latter. |
