PURPOSE:To improve the coloring property of a magenta dye of the titled material by incorporating 5-pyrazolone type magenta coupler contg. a specified aromatic sulfonyl group as a partial structure in the titled material. CONSTITUTION:The t-pyrazolone type magenta coupler (for example, the coupler shown by formula II) which binds the aromatic sulfonyl group shown by formula I as the partial structure, is incorporated in one or more layers of silver halide emulsion layers. In the formula, R1 is an aliphatic or aryl group, etc., R2 is acylamino or sulfone amide group, etc., R3 is a substituting group, (m) is 1 or 2, (n) is 0-3, R4 and R5 are each a substituting group, at least one of R4 and R5 groups binds with the group shown by formula I, X is a hydrogen atom or a group capable of releasing by reacting with the oxidant of a color developing agent. The titled material having the excellent coloring property of the magenta dye and the high sensitivity and the excellent gradation is obtd. by incorporating the coupler in the titled material. |
