The cocking mechanism has a cylinder (15), fixed to the housing (33), contg. a piston (16) thrusting the barrel (10) rearwards against spring action. A catch (20) hinged on the piston bears against a lug (12) on the barrel in the working position. A stop (32) on the housing swings it out of this position as soon as the barrel has reached its rearmost position. The catch can be swung into the working position by a spring-loaded sleeve (22,23) sliding on the piston, with a lug engaging with the housing stop. USE - For a firearm with wedge-type breech block which is not used to load the round into the barrel.
