NEW MATERIAL:The pyridazinone derivative of formula I (R1 is H or methyl; either one of R2-R4 is H and two of the remainders are lower alkyl, trifluoromethyl, halogen, cyano or nitro) and its salt. EXAMPLE:6-[4-[2-[3-(2-Cyano-5-chlorophenoxy)-2-hydroxypropylamino]-2-m ethyl propylamino]phenyl]5-methyl-4,5-dihydro-3(2H)-pyridazinone. USE:A hypotensor. It has excellent beta-blocking action as well as vasodilating action and is free from side effect of tachycardia. PREPARATION:The compound of formula I can be produced by reacting a compound of formula II with a compound of formula III and, if desired, converting the produced compound to a salt.
