PURPOSE:To appropriately constitute a portable liquid crystal television, a rear projection type television, and a projection type television optionally and to project a picture on a video screen of about two-inch size up to fifty-inch size with a compact and light-weight device by combining a liquid crystal television and a projector device. CONSTITUTION:In case a transmission type liquid crystal television 1 is mounted on the television mounting part 6 of the projector device 2, a light beam generated by a light source 3 goes through a reflection plate 4 and a consensor lens 5 and is made incident to the said television 1, and the light beam after transmitting the television 1 is modulated in terms of the brightness and the darkness of light by the variation in the video transmission factor of the television 1. In case the television 1 is a color television, a color video is modulated. If a total reflection mirror 8 is in a position shown by the full line in the optical path, an obtained modulated light beam is let form an image on a rear projection type screen 9 from its rear side by a projection lens 7 and the total reflection mirror 8, and the image can be spectated from the front side. A demodulated light beam obtained when the mirror 8 is moved out of the optical path as shown by the two-dot long and two short dashes line, is directly projected as a video on a screen 10 by a projection lens 7.
