PURPOSE:To prevent the anaerobic spoilage of drain water, by a method wherein an aeration stirring apparatus is provided to a drain tank for a building and the drain water is stirred while air is supplied to the drain water to absorb and grind suspended scum. CONSTITUTION:When a motor 11 is driven, a stirring blade 12 is rotated through a hollow shaft 16 to generate a downward water stream around said blade 12. Therefore, a negative pressure part is generated at the lower end of the hollow shaft 16 and the air sucked from the suction hole 16H opened to the upper part of the hollow shaft 16 passes through the hollow part of a hollow shaft 52 to reach the opening port 16T at the lower leading end of the hollow shaft 16 and mixed with the water stream while the water stream mixed air bubbles is changed to the stream in a horizontal direction by an L-shaped or dog-legged draft tube 13 and forcibly emitted into a tank 1 in a predetermined direction. By this method, the generation of the spoilage and malodor in the tank can be prevented.
