PURPOSE:To prevent the breakage of a luminous tube, particularly at its sealing section, by forming a bent section provided on a nickel feeder at the position where nickel is not recrystallized by the heat transmitted from the luminous tube during lighting. CONSTITUTION:A nickel feeder 8 is made of a flexible nickel ribbon and folded at a position apart from the end section of a luminous tube 1 to form a bent section 12. When a lamp of such constitution is turned on, the luminous tube 1 gets a high temperature and is expanded in the tube axis direction, but it is shrunk to the original length when turned off. In this case, the bent section 12 provided on the feeder 8 is deformed and absorbs the said expansion and shrinkage of the luminous tube 1, thus the breakage of the sealing section of the luminous tube 1 can be prevented. Moreover, the bent section 12 is set apart from the luminous tube 1 getting a high temperature and receive little heat from the luminous tube 1. Accordingly, the nickel of the bent section 12 is not recrystallized and made fragile, and the bent section 12 is not broken even if its deformation is repeated during the lamp life to absorb the expansion and shrinkage of the luminous tube 1.
