PURPOSE:To nip and center a square article having a variety of shapes with high precision by constituting the centering hooks in the directions of X- and Y-axes in an independent structure in the longitudinal and transverse directions and allowing these hooks to be relatively shiftable in the centrifugal direction by the combination of links and a slider. CONSTITUTION:An elevation block 17 is lowered by the operation of a hydraulic cylinder 16, and the first and second sliders 21 and 22 are pulled down through the pulling springs 23 and 24, following the above-described lowering. Interlocked with the operation of the first and second link pair 29 and the first and second slider arms 25 and 26 due to the lowering of the first slider 21, the slide blocks 6a and 6b having the centering hooks 8a and 8b in the direction of X-axis are relatively shifted in the centrifugal direction. Further, interlocked with the operation of the third and fourth link pair 35 and the third and fourth slider arms 31 and 32 due to the lowering of the second slider 22, the slide blocks 7a and 7b having the centering hooks 9a and 9b in the direction of Y-axis are relatively shifted in the centrifugal direction, and a square article (e.g. LSI) transferred onto a table 1 is nipped from four directions so as to be brought in the centrifugal direction, and the article is centered.
