PURPOSE:To facilitate effective utilization of a polishing belt, by providing a rotatable pedal disc, provided on an under surface with a narrow and long contact part with which a polishing belt makes slide contact, and a holding mechanism, setting and holding an inclination angle with the running direction of the polishing belt of the long contact part. CONSTITUTION:By rotating a pedal disc (a), a narrow and long contact part (b) is forced into a desired inclination angle with the running direction of a polishing belt (c). In which case, when a narrow workpiece W1 is applied, an inclination angle of the contact part (b) with the polishing belt (c) is increased. When a wide workpiece W2 is applied, an inclination angle with the polishing belt (c) is decreased as shown in Fig. This constitution, even if the various widths of a workpiece W are applied, enables an effective width (y) of the polishing belt (c) to be adjusted to a value similar to a width Z of the polishing belt (c), and enables the effective use of the polishing surface of the belt (c). |
