PURPOSE:To obtain a high class surface lubricating wire rod by sticking a sodium stearate chemical on the surface after forming a phosphate film with moving a wire rod, leading it to a drying device prior to the mutual reaction reaching a balanced state and continuing the drawing and reaction. CONSTITUTION:The wire rod 12 pulled out of an uncoiler 10 is wound on a wire drying drum 14 via a bending roll 16, shot blast device 18 preheating device 20, zinc phosphate treating device 22, cleaning device 24, sodium stearate device 26, hot blast drying furnace 28, air blowing device 30 and wire drawing machine 32. The wire rod 12 coming out of the zinc phosphate treatment device 22 is fed to the sodium stearate treatment device 26 after being cleaned by a worm water. The stuck sodium stearate forms a zinc stearate by reacting to a zinc stearate film and this reaction continues even in the drying stage in the hot blast drying furnace. The surface treatment film is thus obtd. with an inline treatment to improve the productivity and to save a labor.
