Date Oct. 9, 1986.A horseshoe has an upper part (1) of horseshoe configuration and having a bottom (2) for abutment against the underside of the hoof of a horse. The bottom (2) has walls (3 and 4) along its inner and outer edges. An outsole (75) is removably connectable with the upper part (1). In each of the branches of the bottom (2) a row of nail holes (8,9,10 and 11) is provided. In order to achieve a reliable guiding of the nails (70), a plate portion (25) with an additional row of nail holes (25a,26a,27a and 28a) is provided in the upper part (1) at a distance from the row of nail holes (8,9,10 and 11) in the bottom (2). Each plate portion (24) combines with the bottom (2) to form a box girder in order to provide great twisting stiffness of the horseshoe.
