PURPOSE:To decrease the in-line restoration time by providing a control circuit outputting faulty terminal equipment specific information when a fault is detected in a transmission signal outputted from a POS terminal equipment main body. CONSTITUTION:The in-line fault detection circuit consists of a transmission signal fault detection circuit 19, a display lamp 18 and a control circuit 21 or the like. If the transmission line 3 is faulty, the display lamp 18 is lighted and if the POS terminal equipment main body 12 is faulty, a display lamp 20 is lighted and if the POS terminal equipment 2 is faulty, faulty information and a terminal set number of the faulty POS terminal equipment 2 are inputted to the control section 1. Thus, when an in-line fault takes place, the operator specifies the faulty location immediately. Thus, the time required for repair is reduced and the time from the occurrence of fault till the in-line restoration is reduced. |
