PURPOSE:To easily produce an amido compd. at ordinary temp. in a high yield by bringing ester and amine into an electrolytic reaction in the cathode chamber of an electrolytic cell. CONSTITUTION:Ester represented by a formula R'COOR'' and amine represented by a formula RNH2 are brought into an electrolytic reaction represented by the formula at ordinary temp. in the cathode chamber of an electrolytic cell to produce an amido compd. represented by a formula R'CONHR. In the formula, each of R, R' and R'' is straight or branched chain alkyl, aryl group such as optionally substd. phenyl or the like. The ester and amine as starting materials are dissolved in an aprotic polar solvent such as methylene chloride and poured into the cathode chamber. The produced amido compd. is separated and purified by combining solvent removal, recrystallization, chromatographing and other process. Thus, the desired amido compd. is easily obtd. in a high yield.
