PURPOSE:To automatically detect a part to be corrected and to correct it by referring to a KANA (Japanese syllabary) notation storing means for storing the KANA notation of a word of a specific part of speech and rewriting the word extracted by a KANJI (Chinese character) word extracting means to the KANA notation. CONSTITUTION:A means 3 for extracting specific part-of-speech extracts the word of the specific part of speech from an inputted Japanese sentence. The KANJI word extracting means 4 extracts the word in which the KANJI is included in the notation of the words extracted by the means 3 for extracting specific part-of-speech. Further, a KANA notation storing means 5 stores the KANA notation of the word of the specific part of speech. A KANJI word rewriting means 6 refers to the KANA notation storing means 5 to rewrite the word extracted by the KANJI word extracting means to the KANA notation. Thereby, a part for which it seems to be preferable that a KANJI notation is changed to the KANA notation is automatically detected by taking the part of speech into consideration and corrected and the efficiency in a correcting operation is attained.
