PURPOSE:To provide a titled electrode which extends the life of the electrode by using an embedded metal which is hardly alloyed or melt-stuck within the specific area rate of the contact surface of the electrode for welding consisting of a copper alloy having high strength and high electrical conductivity. CONSTITUTION:About 20-70% of the area of the contact surface 1a of an electrode 1 for welding consisting of a copper alloy having high strength and high electrical conductivity is embedded with an alumina-dispersed copper alloy or a copper alloy 2 contg. tungsten, WC, etc. which is hardly alloyed or melt-stuck with the material to be welded. If the alloy is used within said area, the alloying and melt-sticking are satisfactorily prevented without deterioration in the electrical conductivity and decrease in strength and the life of the electrode 1 is extended. |
