PURPOSE:To obtain a fluorescent character display tube having good working efficiency and accurate connection structure by providing a lead sealed parallel to the 1st. wiring and the 2nd. wiring in the sealing portion of either of the anode substrate and the insulating substrate. CONSTITUTION:IC chips 13 are fixed onto the insulating layer 12 and the electrodes of which are connected to bonding pads 10 by means of bonding wires 14 respectively, and a shield 20 is provided on the insulating layer 12 so as to cover the bonding wires 14 and the IC chips 13, and the 2nd. conducting pads 11 provided on the both ends of the insulate 8 are connected to the wiring 9. a lead 15 is fixed onto the insulating side plate 18 so as to come into close contact with the both of inner surface and the sealing surface and to be parallel to the wiring 3 and the wiring 9 in the sealing plane, and the anode substrate 1 and the insulating substrate 8 are arranged to be faced to each other, and the conducting pad 4 on the anode substrate 1 and the conducting pad 11 on the insulating substrate 8 are connected to the lead 15 on the insulating side plate 18 mutually and sealed with the sealing glass 19 to fix the lead 15 in the sealed portion. Thereby an accurate connection structure of good working efficiency can be obtained.
