PURPOSE:To decrease the unit of heat quantity and to improve the quality of materials to be heated by subjecting the parameter of a calculation model to online correction in accordance with a difference between the heating-up value calculated by said calculation model and the detected heating-up values of the materials to be heated. CONSTITUTION:Steel products 12 are subjected to a heating treatment while said products are conveyed in an arrow A direction in a continuous heating furnace 10 having burners 14 for combustion. The temp. of the steel products 1 is calculated by using the calculation model from the in-furnace heating condition and the combustion in the heating furnace 10 is controlled in accordance therewith. On the other hand, the surface temp. of the steel products 12 in the furnace is detected at least twice by surface thermometers 18A, 18B, etc., by which the heating-up value is determined. The parameter changing with the in-furnace heating condition in the above-mentioned calculation mode is corrected by an arithmetic unit 20 in accordance with the difference between the calculated heating-up value and the detected heating-up value. The online correction of the calculation model is thereby executed with high accuracy.
