A process for the production of cushions provided with back-foamed covers, more especially car seat cushions, in which a piece (9) of covering material is placed on one half (1) of a mould and pressed against the edge (10) of the mould cavity (3), vacuum is applied to the mould cavity (3) and the piece (9) of covering material - overcoming the contact pressure acting thereon - is drawn into the mould cavity (3) and adapted to the contour thereof, a foamable reaction mixture is then introduced into the mould cavity (3) and, after curing of the foam core, the finished cushion is removed, characterized in that contact pressure acting on the piece (9) of covering material is subjected to pulsation.
