In order to raise stamping bars and secure them, use is made of a locking device (1) consisting of locking plates (8) which are pressed, guided by a parallelogram bar system (10, 12), against the cross-piece (16) of the stamping bars (4). This guide system makes it possible to obtain a parallel arrangement of the locking plates (8) on said bars (4), so that the surface density during clamping or locking is spread over the entire surface of the clamping plates. The parallelogram bar system (10, 12) or the lower parallel bar system (10) is connected to a rotary shaft (9), whereby the two shafts (9, 9') associated respectively with a locking device (1) for the shafts are entrained by a common pivoting movement, preferably by a synchronous hydraulic jack (14'). The pressure surfaces of the clamping plates are guided parallel to the vertical axis of the stamping bars, thereby enabling the production of an inexpensive and low-maintenance device of generally simple design.
