PURPOSE:To protect the eyes of a microscope examiner, by providing a shutter which works in response to the changeover of optical paths. CONSTITUTION:An optical path switch knob 10 is kept pushed in the case of the illumination of a dark viewfield. The projected part 13a of a shutter 13 touches a flipping member 16 adhered to a lens barrel attachment frame 2 and is turned left around a shaft 14 fixed to an optical path switch frame 4 to be flipped out of the optical path. Here an optical path switching knob 10 is pulled out slightly as shown in figure. Thus the shutter 13 moves to the left side of the frame 4 and turns right by its empty weight. As a result, the shutter 13 hits a stopper 15 to cut off partially the optical path of illumination. The harmful light reflected on the sample surface and entering a viewfield is cut off by the shutter 13. The knob 10 is pulled out further to switch the illumination to a bright viewfield. In this case, the shutter 13 is kept at the position of the stopper 15 and cuts off a part of the optical path of illumination. However, the light of illumination is kept bright enough. |
