The wire grip-contact is constructed from two metal strips laid over one another. The end of the first strip is formed into two arms with curved inner cutting edges, and the same end of the second strip is formed into a single central arm bent inwards into the plane occupied by the other two arms. The side edges of the centre arm are straight so that with the inner edges of the outer arms they form a narrowing region, a narrow region, and a widening region. The wires are inserted down the narrowing region into the narrow region where the arm edges cut through the insulation to the conductor beneath.
