In a known laundry drum for an electrical laundry drier, measuring electrodes coming in contact with the laundry and intended for the moisture control of the drying cycle are mounted on a laundry take-up rib held on the inner circumference of the laundry drum and of approximately V-shaped cross-section. Such an electrode arrangement often gives rise to difficulties, in that a gap can form in the course of time between the measuring electrodes and the outer wall of the laundry take-up rib, the result of this being that a friction edge leading to damage to the laundry occurs. The V-shaped wall part (7, 7', 7'') of the laundry take-up rib (2) is itself designed as a measuring electrode and is fixed in a plastic carrier body (3) fastened to the inner circumference of the laundry drum. In the mounted state of the measuring-electrode wall part (7, 7', 7''), a contact connection, taking place within the V-shaped measuring-electrode wall part (7, 7', 7''), is made with a contact bridge (15, 16) held in the laundry-drum casing (1'). The laundry drum can be used primarily for the drying of laundry in electrical domestic washing and/or drying machines. <IMAGE>
