A housing (1) contains an electric motor (2), a battery (3), a gear drive (4) changing the rotatory motion into a vibratory one for the brush shaft (5) and its removable brush (11), a switch (6) and a shaft bearing (7). A pressure pickup (8) on the bearing (7) senses the pressure on the brush (11) while teeth are being cleaned. The applied pressure is passed to the microprocessor (9) which compares the actual pressure with a nominal pressure stored in its memory. When the two pressures are the same, there is no reaction, but, if the actual pressure is higher or lower than the nominal value, the microprocessor (9) sends an optical or acoustic signal to the signalling unit (10), so that the user can change the pressure on the brush (11) until the signal disappears. |
