The invention relates to a window lifter for motor vehicles for the movement and guidance of a window pane, there being provided guide rails (4) which are arranged within the door body and run essentially vertically and on which slides (7) carrying the window pane are guided so as to be longitudinally movable and there are provided between the guide rails (4) and slides (7) sliding bodies (28) which assist the mutual guidance of these. At the same time, each sliding body (28) has a sliding-body unit (31) which fills in an essentially play-free manner the gap between the slides (7) and a guide strip (34) of the guide rail (4). This sliding-body unit (31) is designed in such a way that, as a result of the frictional forces acting on it, it experiences, by virtue of the relative movement between the slides (7) and guide strip (34), a changing shape which reduces its effective width. Thus, for example, a parallelogram arises from a rectangular basic shape. The essential advantage of this is that, in any phase of movement and in any position, the window lifter allows an actuation which is always smooth, whilst the desired freedom from rattling and, with the window pane closed, also the necessary tightness are nevertheless ensured, since the sliding-body unit (31) resumes its original shape after the conclusion of the phase of movement. <IMAGE> |
