PURPOSE:To obtain an automatic focus adjusting camera which is shortened in processing time required for focus adjustment and put in focus speedily by preventing a read signal from being inputted from an unnecessary solid-state image sensor. CONSTITUTION:The output of a photodiode array 71 which photodetects an object image split into two is stored in a storage electrode 72 and stored charges are shifted from a shift electrode 73 to a holding electrode 74 with shift pulses. When an optional position is specified by a control circuit 75, on the other hand, only a switching transistor at a position decoded by a decoder 76 turns on and the held charges can be outputted. Consequently, only a necessary element output can be led out and the time is saved. |
