PURPOSE:To eliminate staining due to toner sticking by transferring a multicolor toner image to a transfer material, and exposing an image formation body to light having a component which is transmitted through all of toner constituting the multicolor toner image and then cleaning the image formation body. CONSTITUTION:The multicolor toner image obtained on the image formation body is irradiated uniformly by a before-transfer exposure lamp 30 when necessary and then transferred to recording paper P by a transfer electrode 33, and the recording paper P is separated from the image formation body 1 by a separation electrode 34 and fixed by a fixing device 31. The image formation body 1, on the other hand, is exposed uniformly by a before-cleaning exposure lamp 35 and then cleaned by a cleaning device 36. The fur brush 36a of the cleaning device 36 is held not to contact the image formation body 1 during image formation, but contacts the image formation body 1 after the multicolor image is formed on the image formation body 1 and transferred, thereby scraping off transfer remaining toner while rotating as shown by an arrow. Consequently, toner is prevented from being scattered to obtain a multicolor image forming method which eliminates such a problem that the inside in the device and recording paper are stained.
