PERPENDICULAR MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM

摘要

PURPOSE:To permit writing of information with a small magnetic field and recording and reproduction up to high reproduction output and high recording density by lowering the coercive force of the recording layer from the free surface side toward a substrate side. CONSTITUTION:The recording layer 31 having the high coercive force Hc is disposed on the free surface side and the recording layer 32 having the low coercive force Hc is disposed on the side nearer the soft magnetic layer 2, i.e., in the deep part of the recording layer. Then, the decrease in the reproduction output by the influence of a demagnetizing field is prevented in the place where the high coercive force Hc is provided. The easy recording to the medium and the recording up to the high recording density are thus permitted by such prevention coupled with the decrease of the coercive force Hc in the deep part of the recording layer.
