PURPOSE:To stabilize the quality of a plated film by carrying out the drying and preheating of the steel in an atmosphere contg. gaseous HCl when wet pretreatment and then fused-salt electrolysis plating are applied to the steel sheet deposited with a water film. CONSTITUTION:A band steel 2 from a recoiler 1 is continuously sent to a drying chamber 7 through a degreasing vessel 3, a water washing vessel 4, a pickling vessel 5, and a water washing vessel 6, heated, and dried. Although the drying is carried out in the atmosphere contg. gaseous HCl, such an atmosphere is not necessarily needed when the drying is carried out at 100 deg.C. The band steel 2 is then introduced into a preheating stage, and heated and dried in the regulated atmosphere 9 isolated from the outside by a seal roll 8. The preheating stage is carried out in the atmosphere contg. gaseous HCl. The band steel 2 thus preheated is then activated, and the pretreated band steel 2 is applied with specified plating in a fused-salt electrolysis plating bath 14.
