PURPOSE:To improve the corrosion resistance in the long continuous run in the chloride-based fused-salt electrolysis plating by forming a porous panel opposed to the cathode of a housing constituting the title anode chamber with an insulating material. CONSTITUTION:A powdery or pelletized metallic body 22 as the anode metal is packed in the housing 24, and opposed to a steel body 10 constituting the cathode. The outermost face of the housing 24 constituting the opposing face is formed by a porous panel made of an appropriate metal such as mild steel, Ni, or an Ni-based alloy, and coated with an insulating material or a lining 30. For example, the coat is provided by the thermal spraying of ceramics. A screen 28 is furnished on the opposite side of the panel 26. Since the extent of corrosion varies with the composition, temp., etc., of the fused-salt plating bath, the kind and thickness of the coated insulating material 30 can be appropriately selected as required.
