PURPOSE:To make a sublimation type thermal transfer sheet regenerable and reusable, by subliming the same dye under heating to replenish the same to an ink layer part used in recording. CONSTITUTION:The ink layer 111, of which the sublimable dye is consumed, of transfer sheet used in thermal transfer recording is markedly reduced in the density of the sublimable dye as compared with a part 112 unused in recording. When this low density part moves to a dye replenishing apparatus 21 composed of a container 15 receiving the sublimable dye powder 14 and having a porous filter 12 impervious to a sublimable dye powder 14 but previous to the sublimed dye provided to the bottom part thereof and having a heat generating resistor 13 provided around the filter 12, the dye sublimed from said dye replenishing apparatus 21 is replenished to the low density part. This dye replenishing apparatus 21 has the same length as the width of the transfer sheet and can replenish the dye to the entire surface or furnish the dye to a part the dye is missing on the used transfer sheet. |
