PURPOSE:To prevent abnormal sound from being generated owing to vibrations at the time of driving by engaging the flange peripheral edge part of a coupling key with the opening edge part of a buffer member between the opening end part of an outer cable and the opening end part of a transmission case. CONSTITUTION:A cable 3 for a speedometer which is coupled with the speedometer S is composed of an inner cable 1 and the outer cable 2. The coupling key 5 with a flange 4 is fixed to the tip part of the inner cable 1. When the inner cable 1 is coupled with the shaft 8 of a pinion gear, the flange peripheral edge part of the coupling key 5 is engaged with the opening edge part of the buffer member 13 between the opening end part 2a of the outer cable 2 and the opening end part 11a of the transmission case 11.
