PURPOSE:To be able to normally feed a sheet by providing a cam member for holding a retaining pawl at an open position on the basis of energizing means when the pawl is disposed at a predetermined position and for closing the pawl upon rotation of a platen and setting the pawl at an open position again after passing a printing position and rotating at a predetermined angle, thereby to prevent the sheet from floating. CONSTITUTION:A retaining pawl 14 is openably disposed in parallel with a platen shaft 11 on the outer periphery of a platen 10. The both ends 14c, 14c of pawls 14b... of the pawl 14 are laterally extended in parallel with the shaft 11, and engaged with the insides of pawl cams 20, 20 secured to right and left side plates. The cams 20 are so formed in a horseshoe shape opened at the rear side (right side of the drawing) for holding the pawl 14 at an open position on the basis of energizing means when the pawl 14 is disposed at a predetermined position, closing the pawl 14 against tension springs 16, 16 at the inlet 20a upon rotation of the platen 10, holding the state at the intermediate 20b of a circular-arc state, and gradually opening at an outlet 20c.
