A method for preparing a paste from mugwort includes the steps of preboiling 100 parts raw material at 85-100≦̸C, cooling the preboiled material by tap water to < 30≦̸C, crushing the cooled material, adding 60-80 parts water to the crushed, decomposing the crushed by 0.1-0.5 parts cellulase or/and 0.1-0.3 protopectinase for 90-120min at 40-50≦̸C, removing the undecomposed material, sterilizing the decomposed for 5 min at 90-100≦̸C, wrapping the sterilized into Nylon film bag, and then preserving it in a refrigerater or a freezer to provide a mugwort paste for long preservation.
