PURPOSE:To easily electropolishing even the inner surface of a bent metallic hollow body, by inserting a metallic core on which a nonconductive wiry body is spirally wound into the hollow body as a cathode, and applying an electric current in an electrolyte with the hollow body as an anode when the inner surface of the small-bore metallic hollow body is electropolished. CONSTITUTION:When the inner surface of the bent metallic hollow body 16 made of stainless steel, etc., and having an extremely small inner diameter is electropolished, an electrode body 11, obtained by using a metallic thin wire of Cu, Fe, Ag, Al, etc., as the core wire 12 and spirally winding a nonconductive wiry material 13 of fluororesin, polyamide resin, acrylic resin, etc., thereon at regular intervals, is inserted into the hollow body 16. The material is dipped in an electrolyte 14 of an aq. soln. consisting essentially of phosphoric acid and sulfuric acid, a DC current is applied with the core wire 12 as the cathode and the metallic hollow body 16 as the anode, and the inner surface of the metallic hollow body 16 is easily electropolished.
