PURPOSE:To obtain a selective transmission membrane having a sufficient performance as a membrane of this type and also an excellent chlorine resistance by employing specific first and second diamine components at a specific mol ratio as diamine components of aromatic copolyamide. CONSTITUTION:The 3,3'-diaminodiphenylsulfone and metaphenylenediamine-4- sodium sulfonate as a first diamine component represented by the formula I and a second diamine component by the formula II are, for instance, dissolved in a solvent such as N-methylpyrrolidone. Then triethylamine is added as a collector of chlorinated hydrogen generated at the time of polymerization. Further, chloride terephthalate is added as an acid component for reaction. After polymerization reaction, a reaction solution is added to methanol to permit the polymer to precipitate. After this, this precipitate is filtered and refined to obtain aromatic copolyamide. This aromatic copolyamide is dissolved in a solvent and this solution is applied to a glass plate as a method known commonly, thus preparing a selective transmission membrane. |
