摘要 PURPOSE:To attain adjustment of white balance without any deterioration in S/N by controlling the sensitivity of a solid-state image pickup element to adjust the white balance. CONSTITUTION:The sensitivity of solid-state image pickup elements 14R, 14B is changed at storage charge sweep-out circuits 21, 22 by an error signal obtained from comparator circuits 17, 18 and when an achromatic object at the output of amplifiers 15R, 15G, 15B is picked up, the video signal output level of R, G, B is equalized. That is, the position of a sweep-out pulse Ps of the solid-state image pickup element 14G is decided to a constant timing and the sensitivity of the solid-state image pickup element 14G is decided and the sweep-out pulse Ps of the solid-state image pickup elements 14R, 14B is controlled to attain white balance adjustment. Thus, the white balance is taken completely about changes of minor color temperature.
