PURPOSE:To easily perform inverted display, by using a liquid crystal plate instead of a polarizing plate, and constituting a device so that the polarizing function of the liquid crystal plate can be effectively utilized by superimposing two sheets of liquid crystal panels. CONSTITUTION:Inverted display control terminals are provided on the upper plane and the lower plane of another liquid crystal plate 8 provided on the upper plane side of the liquid crystal plate 2 having a displaying transparent electrode by being superimposed, and it is constituted so that a voltage is applied on liquid crystal in the inside of the terminal. In a state where the voltage is applied on the liquid crystal 2, and no voltage is applied on the liquid crystal 8, a regular display state is generated. In other words, a numerical part 9 is placed under a dark state because the polarizing direction of the liquid crystal plate 8 is deviated by 90 deg. from that of the liquid crystal plate 2, and a pack part 10 can be seen brightly because the polarizing directions of both plates coincide. When the voltage is applied on the liquid crystal plate 8 in such state, the polarizing directions of the liquid crystal plate 8 and the liquid crystal plate 2 coincide, then the numerical part 9 can been seen brightly, on the other hand, the pack part 10 becomes dark due to the deviation of the polarizing directions of both plates by 90 deg.. Thus, it is possible to perform the inverted display with simple constitution.
