PURPOSE:To provide the title lead which has an excellent effect of increasing the color density of hand writing and excellent lead retention and properties with respect to sanitation, can be smoothly written and hardly causes change with time, by impregnating a sintered lead with an alpha-olefin oligomer. CONSTITUTION:A sintered lead is impregnated with an alpha-olefin oligomer of formula I (wherein R is a group of formula II; n is 1-6), obtd. by using a lower alpha-olefin as a starting material and controlling the degree of polymn., under atmospheric, reduced or super-atmospheric pressure by lowering its kinematic viscosity while keeping temp. at 80-120 deg.C.
