PURPOSE:To accurately carry out wax spraying by providing a second sonic sensor for detecting the existence of a vehicle besides a first sonic sensor for detecting the type of a vehicle on the upper part of a wax arch. CONSTITUTION:A second sonic sensor 7 is provided on the rear side of a wax arch on the upper part of a car washer 8. This sensor 7 detects a vehicle length L by the advancing distance of the car washer 8 from the start till the end of the detection of the vehicle 3 by advancing the car washer 8. Then, at the time of backing the car washer 8, after the vehicle 3 is detected again by the second sonic sensor 7, spraying is started from the wax arch 6 at the point of time when the car washer 8 is backed by a distance l3. After that, the spraying of wax is stopped when the car washer 8 is backed by the distance of the vehicle length L. Thereby, waxing can be accurately carried out without waste.
