PURPOSE:To prevent a push button dial signal from being transmitted to an exchange by connecting an individual telephone set to a line wire by providing a constant time limit after a rotary dial signal is transmitted to the line wire when the individual telephone set for transmitting the push button dial signal which is stored in an electronic key telephone system transmits to the line wire. CONSTITUTION:The main equipment 1 of the telephone system is constituted of a key telephone set, the individual telephone set 2, a main control part 14, a calling network switch 13 or the like. The main control part 14 receives the transmission from the telephone set 2 to the line wire and calls the exchange 3 to which the line wire is connected through an extension connecting part 11 and a line wire connecting part 12. Then, after the control part 14 receives a dial tone from the line wire, it transforms the part after the second numeral of the push button dial signal received from the telephone set 2 to the rotary dial signal and transmits to the line wire. When a next push button dial signal is not received within a constant time after the first numeral of the dial signal is transmitted to the line wire, the telephone set 2 is connected to said line wire through the calling network switch 13.
