PURPOSE:To decrease variance in the outside diameter and the eccentricity of a covered electrode, and to stabilize an arc state by constituting the titled device so that the inside diameter of a welding rod core wire guide, the inside diameter of a nozzle, the length of a nozzle parallel part, and a distance between the tip of the core wire guide and the nozzle satisfy a specific expression. CONSTITUTION:The inside diameter (d) of a welding rod core wire guide 3, the inside diameter D of a nozzle 4, the length L of a nozzle parallel part, and a distance C between the tip of the core wire guide and the nozzle satisfy the following expression I and expression II. The expression I:45(D-d)/ d<=L<=100(D-d)/d, and the expression II:3<=C<=2.5(D-d), and in accordance with various values of said D and (d), L and C are calculated by the expression I and the expression II, and various nozzles or holders with a nozzle having these length L are manufactured in advance. In this state, the nozzle or the holder with a nozzle conforming to the requested D and (d) is attached to a body so that C can be secured, and offered for coating.
