PURPOSE:To remove the time when a computer terminal is occupied in order to monitor the execution condition of a batch job and to improve the use efficiency of the computer terminal by monitoring the execution condition of the batch job in a computer from a telephone set. CONSTITUTION:When a subscriber dials the number of a job monitoring device 3 with telephone sets 11-14, an electronic switchboard 2 is call-connected to the job monitoring device 3. The job monitoring device 3 comes to be the condition in which the identifying number of a batch job can be recognized from the telephone sets 11-14 of the subscriber and the subscriber inputs the identifying number of the batch job from the key pad of the telephone sets 11-14. The job monitoring device 3 recognizes a PB signal to occur from the telephone sets 11-14 of the subscriber at a PB signal identifying circuit 31 and inquires a computer 4 about the batch job. When the response of the execution condition of a job is received from the computer 4, the execution condition of the batch job is converted to a sound with a speech synthesis circuit 32 and the response is executed by the sound to the receiver of the telephone sets 11-14 of the subscriber.
