PURPOSE:To make the heat exchanger compact and to increase the heat exchange efficiency by radially disposing a large number of heat exchange elements which are formed by ceramic plates and in which a first fluid circulates within a cylindrical heat exchanger, and causing another fluid to flow through radial spaces formed between said heat exchange elements. CONSTITUTION:The heat exchanger (K) is provided with a large number of heat exchange elements 11-11 formed rectangular thin plates by ceramic material radially disposed with respect to the surroundings of the axial core (a) of an inner tube. A waste gas generated within the inner tube flows through along the axial core (a) within respective second passages 15-15, and is discharged through a discharge tube, on one hand, and combustion air radially flows through inverse-radially within first passages 14-14 from the surroundings of the inner tube, and is preheated by the heat of the waste gas circulating within respective second passages 15 and is introduced into the inner tube and is supplied to a gas nozzle.
