PURPOSE:To obtain a thermoplastic resin compsn. having excellent toughness and modulus at high temp., by blending a copolymer composed of a polyphenylene sulfide moiety and a polyphenylene sulfide sulfone moiety with a specified polymer. CONSTITUTION:A compsn. contains 95-30pts.wt. block copolymer (a) composed of a polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) moiety and a polyphenylene sulfide sulfone moiety, 5-70pts.wt. at least one polymer (b) selected from the group consisting of a polysulfone, a polyphenylene oxide, a polyarylate, a polycarbonate and a polyether imide and optionally, an inorg. filler (c). When the number of PPS molecules is equal to the number of the terminal reactive groups of the arom. sulfide sulfone polymer in the production of the block copolymer, the block copolymer can be obtd. in a good yield.
