PURPOSE:To obtain a print character having a high resolution, by making the cross-section of a printing section of a dot wire into a shape of polygonal. CONSTITUTION:A print head comprises a dot wire 1, an armature 2, a solenoid 3, a guide 4 and an anti-rotation guide 5, where the cross-section of the dot wire 1 is made octagonal. When printing is made, the wire dot 1 is driven by the solenoid 3 through the armature 2. The dot wire 1 is held at a predetermined position by means of the guide 4 and the anti-rotation guide 5 is arranged in contact with one face of the dot wire 1, so as to hold the horizontal, vertical and oblique faces of the dot wire 1. Since the dot wire 1 is octagonal, the border section of the print will be a continuous line when a printing is made so that dots are overlapped slightly each other, thereby a print character having a high resolution can be obtained. |
